Aaron Ramey // designer, artist
Multidisciplinary designer, from West Philadelphia, with a range of experiences in fashion design, creative direction, product design, costume design, image making and styling. Whether it’s creative directing for brands and agencies or designing full collections to costumes, Aaron’s designs and aesthetics are rooted in curosity, representation and theories of the future.
After co-creating brand, Babylon Cartel, Aaron transitioned into fine art and commercial photography creating images that blur the lines between grace and power for brands like Nike, Farfetched and Diesel. With the release of his photo series called “I Can’t Apologize, Again” shot in Cuba that focused on the complexities of Black masculinity.
Whilst creating his own brand, A Universe, during the pandemic he’s been focusing on designing limited products, costume designing + costuming commercial, film and television productions. Most notably key costuming Academy Award winning film “Judas and The Black Messiah” dressing both lead and supporting actors. Aaron currently resides between New York + Los Angeles.
